Privacy Policy

Overview

This policy describes the personal information Provincial Refrigeration collects through provincialrefrigeration.com, why we collect it, and who receives it. Provincial Refrigeration is a family-run commercial refrigeration, HVAC and plumbing company at 11252 184 St NW, Edmonton AB T5S 2S6, in business since 2001.

Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) governs how we collect, use and disclose personal information. The federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) applies when personal information crosses provincial or national borders in the course of commercial activity, which happens with some of the service providers named below. Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) governs the commercial electronic messages we send.

Effective date: October 5, 2026.

What We Collect

Contact form. The form on our contact page asks for your name, company name (optional), email address, a subject, and your message. When you submit it, the site also records the address of the page you were on, your IP address, your browser's user agent, the date and time, and an identifier generated for that submission. If you reached the site through an advertisement or a tagged campaign link, the submission also carries the Google click identifier (gclid) and the campaign source, medium and name from that link.

Google Ads lead forms. Some of our Google advertisements include a form that you fill in on Google, without visiting this site. That form asks for your name, email address, phone number, city and company. Google delivers those answers to us.

Phone and email. The site shows one phone number, (780) 405-7314, and one email address, [email protected]. When you call or write, we receive what you tell us.

Analytics. The site uses Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager. It records page views, the page address and title, the page that referred you, your screen size, browser language, and your browser and device type. Google receives your IP address with each request. The site also sends Google Analytics an event when a form is submitted and when a phone link is tapped. The phone event records the number on the link and whether it was an emergency link. It does not record the call.

Advertising measurement. The Google Ads tag loads on every page. The site reports a conversion to Google Ads when a sales enquiry is submitted through the contact form and when a phone link is tapped, so we can see which advertisements produce enquiries and calls. The phone conversion counts the tap and carries no contact details. Submissions with the subject Careers are not reported as conversions.

Information your browser sends automatically. The hosting server and Cloudflare, the network that sits in front of the site, receive your IP address, browser type and the pages you request in order to deliver the site and keep it secure.

Enhanced Conversions

Since October 5, 2026, the email address you enter in the contact form is sent to Google Ads in hashed form when your enquiry is reported as a conversion. A phone number would be sent the same way if a form on this site collected one. The contact form currently has no phone field.

Hashing happens in your browser, before anything leaves it. The SHA-256 algorithm turns the email address into a fixed string of letters and digits that cannot be read back as the address. Google compares that string with the hashed email addresses of people signed in to Google accounts. A match tells Google that the person who submitted the form is the person who clicked one of our advertisements.

A hashed email address is still personal information, because Google can match it to an account. We use it for one purpose: measuring which advertisements lead to enquiries.

Cookies and Browser Storage

The site stores a small amount of information in your browser. It does not show a cookie banner. The analytics and advertising tags load when a page loads, and you can block them with the controls in the next section.

Pages on the site also load a script from Google reCAPTCHA, and the contact page loads a Google map. Both send your IP address and browser details to Google.

Controlling Cookies and Tracking

You can use the site, call us and send the contact form with analytics and advertising cookies blocked.

To avoid the form entirely, call (780) 405-7314.

Why We Collect It

We collect personal information to answer enquiries and provide service. The specific purposes are:

We do not sell personal information. By submitting a form you consent to our using the information in it for these purposes.

Who Receives It

We share personal information with the service providers that operate the site and handle enquiries for us. Each receives only what its task requires.

Google, Cloudflare and Amazon Web Services operate data centres outside Canada, including in the United States. Personal information they process for us may be stored or accessed outside Canada, where it is subject to the laws of that country, including laws that allow government and court access. To ask about our policies and practices for service providers outside Canada, contact our Privacy Officer using the details below.

We also disclose personal information when the law requires it.

Retention and Safeguards

We keep personal information as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, and as long as the law requires us to keep business records. Google and Cloudflare set the lifetime of their own cookies and keep the data they collect according to their own settings and policies.

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and the contact form checks each submission for automated abuse before accepting it. We limit access to enquiry records to the staff and service providers who need them. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Your Rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, how we have used it, and to whom we have disclosed it. You can ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete. PIPA allows some exceptions, and we will tell you if one applies.

You can withdraw your consent to our collecting, using or disclosing your personal information by giving us reasonable notice, unless the law or a contract requires us to keep it. We will tell you what withdrawing consent means for the service we can provide.

We reply to the messages you send us. When we send commercial electronic messages, we follow CASL: we send them with consent, we identify ourselves, and each one includes a way to unsubscribe.

Questions and Complaints

Send privacy questions, access and correction requests, and complaints to our Privacy Officer.
